Incumbent Stratton to Vie With Button in New York Race
In New York's 29th District a unique contest pits incumbent Democrat Samuel Stratton against Republican Daniel Button. The campaign centers on Vietnam policy with Button urging political solutions and Stratton backing a strong military posture. Stratton, a Schenectady figure and veteran, is favored locally but faces liberal opposition as the war debate dominates the race.
