Anniversary of a Northeast crash haunts survivors
One year after a Fairchild Hiller propjet crashed on Moose Mountain near Lebanon New Hampshire ten of the forty two aboard survived. The tail section held the living while others perished and survivors recall a grim rescue and ongoing memories. Survivors include Dr Richard L Veech and stewardess Betty Jo Frail who guided others to safety. Names of the dead include Carol Newcomb Valarie Plunkett First Officer John C ONeill and professor Milton Gill. Saturday marks an anniversary the survivors would rather forget.
