Williams weighs Goldwater vote amid national issues
In a moderated campus talk, historian Williams explains he would vote for Goldwater on three grounds: federal overreach, defense strategy, and civil rights. He stresses the need for state solutions, warns against excessive fear of war, and critiques Democratic administration excesses while defending civil rights and a balanced government approach. He notes possible political fallout from a landslide.
