Bogus State Psychologist Faces Court in Montpelier
Jailed state psychologist Robert F. Mines, 39, scheduled to appear in Montpelier municipal court today on about 10 counts of allegedly passing bogus checks. Case continued to Monday. Mines, former Vermont director of community mental health, faces scrutiny over falsified academic credentials claimed from the University of London. He earned a salary after resigning Nov. 1 while on leave on $1,000 bond for a $241 hotel check charge. Authorities say additional fraudulent checks totaling about ten may be charged. Mines has declined comment and has connections to five states prior to Vermont.
