Ancient stone may prove Jews preceded Columbus
A stone found in a Bat Creek burial mound in Tennessee may prove a Jewish settlement in the Americas a thousand years before Columbus. Discovered in 1885 by a Smithsonian team, the inscription translated by Dr. Cyrus H. Gordon reads for the land of Judah, suggesting Jewish migration from the Near East to escape Roman defeat in 70 and 135 AD.
