Fore-edge painting sees a comeback but not the old glory

Boston book experts say fore-edge paintings have revived in England yet cannot match the genuine 1790s to 1820s era. Prominent dealers Goodspeed, Bryant, and Glass stress the old fore-edges show superior color, detail, and authenticity, while newer pieces lack the same finesse.

Nader attacks Rolls-Royces over recalls and defects

In London Ralph Nader cites a U.S. Transportation list showing 2000 Rolls Royce exports recalled for steering screws and brake lining defects. He urges Britain to recall the same cars if U.S. actions occur, naming Jaguar 4.2 and Triumph models as others on the list. A Rolls-Royce spokesman called Nader’s claim incorrect.
