Red Brick School in Shaftsbury A Model for Handicapped Children
The Red Brick School in Shaftsbury serves preschool mentally handicapped children with four teachers and a cook. Funded by the Pre-school and Early Education Act, it receives state subsidies and a BFRC foundation drive funds annual tuition up to 10 dollars weekly. The program emphasizes supervised play, language development, and expressive activities to prepare children ages 3 to 8 for elementary school or special ed.
