Bennington Museum Classes Resume After Long Hiatus
Bennington Museum resumes its education program with 4th graders from Bennington Elementary School visiting to study a British cannon captured by Gen. John Stark’s troops at the Battle of Bennington on August 16, 1777. Miss Susan Throckmorton, curator of education, explains the artifact as classes continue through the school year for Molly Stark, Bennington Elementary, and Hoosick Falls Central students following the 1954 start by the late Mrs. Harold C. Green.

Officials Deny Bombing Halt Talks Hint Persist
Paris AFP reported that a well informed North Vietnamese source said Hanoi had answered a U.S. message demanding a total bombing halt. AFP Paris cited the source saying the government’s reply had been transmitted to the Americans. A Hanoi delegation spokesman in Paris told UPI no one from the delegation made such a comment.
