Lyndon State College Plans Dormitory Expansion
Lyndon State College will open bids October 28 for phase two of its expansion, building six dormitory units to house about 264 students between the Samuel Read Hall Library and dining hall. Phase one added Wheelock Hall, with the new dorms likely ready for fall 1967, and an auditorium and music facility are planned for 1968. Financing follows prior patterns, with federal aid hoped for and cautious budgeting amid tight funds. The Perkins and Will Partnership of White Plains, N.Y., designed phase two. In other news, the Saint Louis City Art Museum acquired a 26 inch 11th century Parvati statue, funded by a $25,000 Merrill Trust gift from Charles E. Merrill.

Old State Line House Reopens as Five Flys of Bennington
Tony Perry of Manchester and Stowe reopened the historic State Line House as the Five Flys of Bennington after six months of planning. The rustic revamp features exposed timbers, stained glass, a bar with lead slug marks, a nude painting, and a crowd expected for six nights a week of entertainment including Go-Go girls and Nassau trips. Perry intends to add a third Five Flys near Lake George by late summer 1967, with deep local ties and a backstory tying the venue to Revolutionary War era lore.
