Pownal School Plans Bond Issue And Site Change
The Pownal school advisory committee voted to pursue a bond referendum on December 1 and approve a two story addition at the present center site rather than relocate to East Pownal. They cited lower cost and existing kitchen facilities, while opposing the East Pownal site for road work and duplication of facilities. The curriculum panel also backed two rooms in both sections for open concept teaching, a large multi purpose room, and a stage, with a 38 000 square foot plan trimmed for economy as the project moves forward.
