Indoor skating rink to be Bennington project
Bennington Selectmen and the Bennington Lions Club agreed to share the cost of a large air filled dome for an indoor skating rink named the Bennington Lions Club Skating Rink. Ben-Mont Corporation will rent the bubble for 4500 dollars for 12 weeks, with the town already earmarked to provide 2000 dollars from its recreational fund. A tied vote on charging a nominal admission left the matter unsettled for now.

State to appeal nuke order over Vermont Yankee financing
Vermont may appeal a Public Service Board decision permitting long term financing for Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Corp. Attorney General James Jeffords said the move hinges on negotiations with the firm for installing gas discharge holding devices at the Vernon plant. The devices would contain radioactive discharges for 48 hours. Jeffords wants connecting joints on the existing plant and design work to start.

Angela Davis arrested by FBI in Times Square motel
Angela Davis, 26, a California murder and kidnapping suspect, was seized Tuesday by FBI agents at a Times Square area motel after an extended cross country search. Agentled arrest occurred quietly. accomplice David Poindexter Jr., 36, was jailed on harboring a fugitive charge. Davis was to be arraigned as a fugitive.
