Fossil discovery sparks cross continental clues at Cal Tech
In Pasadena Calif UPI two Cal Tech scientists report finding a 80 million year old Jaswin clam fossil Scabrotrigonia Thoracia in a Tennessee seabed. The fossil shows preserved shell protein with little evolutionary change and hints at ancient ocean connectivity. A sand clay mix prevented contamination keeping amino acids intact. Metropolitan mobile life study finds Americans Canadians and Australians move about 12 times a lifetime while Britons average eight Japanese seven and Taiwanese six with Ireland at four.

New Hampshire repeal of homosexual activity ban
The New Hampshire Legislature repealed the state law banning homosexual activity between consenting adults. Governor Meldrim Thomson supported a corrective bill for 1977, while Attorney General David Souter downplayed the repeal as not affecting prohibitions against unwilling or minor involvement. The ruling drew mixed reactions and noted the old sodomy statute was largely unenforceable.
