Local Support Grows for Moratorium in Bennington
Local support for the Vietnam moratorium rises with 15 businesspeople backing the effort in Bennington. Atty John H Williams II urged Rotary participation in the Oct 15 ecumenical service and procession to the Bennington Battle Monument. The Moratorium Committee opened a South Street information center Friday for canvassing and signatures. Students and merchants, including 12 local businesses, contribute funds and pledge time for Oct 15 events. The Brasserie Restaurant will close all day Wednesday, and high school plans include a vigil and a daylong observance on Oct 15.
