Bennington’s water board faces a financial bind after recent purchases and may ask voters to raise water rates or approve a special tax for system improvements. The panel split on unification and cautioned against prematurely tapping renewal funds while weighing pipe, valve, and service upgrades. Temperatures across New England this five day period are expected to stay mostly below normal with highs in the 50s to 60s and rains totaling over half an inch.
