Louise Herreshoff Exhibited At Corcoran In Washington
The New England painter Louise Herreshoff, who worked from the 1890s to 1926 and died at 91, is highlighted in a major Corcoran Gallery show opening Oct. 9. Most works are New England seascapes and landscapes, with a late portrait series of her Aunt Elizabeth. The exhibit marks the artist's first major U.S. display, largely drawn from Washington and Lee University’s collection in Lexington, Virginia.
