North Bennington contract proposal for fire protection eyed
North Bennington Village Trustees chairman Fred Welling says a charter change allowing the town to contract with local fire departments could benefit the village. He notes the village would see the department budget folded into town expenses, possibly shifting tax burdens and reducing village taxes while preserving department structure. The North Bennington board will discuss the article at its Monday meeting.
