Flowering Bulb Forcing Method Demonstrated to Club

At a Bennington Garden Club meeting hosted by Mrs. Wilbur C. Rice two Shippan Point Garden Club members from Stamford Connecticut presented a bulb forcing method. Bulbs are prepared in pots with special soil buried for three months then cured in a dark cellar and finally moved to light rooms to bloom. Hyacinths flower in three weeks while narcissus tulips and crocus take about six weeks after digging. Several members are testing this technique for February March bloom.
