Deliberations on new Falls water system reach stalemate
In Hoolick Falls NY the village board debated two plans for a new water system after a month of study. Plan A would upgrade a 928 NM tank and mains at a net cost of 198000 dollars, adding about 1.60 per year per home. Plan B adds a storage tank and extended lines at a net cost of 291019 dollars, increasing annual taxes to 17 per home. A HUD grant awaits acceptance and local officials warn funding may not guarantee long term protection. Edward Donovan urged development of 73 acres for 225 building lots to spur growth and raise assessments.
