New Course at MAUHS Lets Students Practice Conservation
Eleven Mt. Anthony Union High School students enrolled in a vocational conservation course work in a 35 acre Shaftsbury pine plantation with two man teams. They thin crowded red pines, improve wildlife habitat, reclaim a stream, and plan to revive apple trees and cedars while building stream obstructions to improve fish habitat and run a two year program focused on hands on forestry and conservation.
