Woodchoppers Jamboree Ends Early After Rain Storm
Taconic District Scouts and 4-H members gathered at Mt. Tabor for the Woodchoppers Jamboree, but a day-long rainstorm shortened the event to 20 hours. About 250 Scouts plus 14 4-Hers, 20 Explorers, and 30 adults attended from Bennington, Rutland, and nearby towns. Troop 353 of Bennington had 35 attendees. Awards were given for camp conditions and patrol ribbons, with blue for excellent and red and yellow for good and average. The jamboree ended after lunch, and unused food will be sent to the Woodford camporee in February.
