National League undecided on future expansion plan
The National League weighs whether to expand in 1969 or 1971 as meetings with the American League decide timing. Kansas City and Seattle are set for 1969 in the AL, while NL owners seek a timetable and franchise pricing. Cities from Milwaukee to Buffalo push for NL teams amid talks on player allocations and franchise costs. The Yankees pursue a shortstop as Aparicio returns to the White Sox in a six man trade. Spaulding Balks Headmasters Dues
NORTHFIELD The Vermont Headmasters Association says Spaulding High School has not announced withdrawal plans as membership ends in June 1968. Dues rise to 460 dollars for Spaulding due to 100 dollar base plus 0.30 per pupil for 1,200 students, with revenue losses and reduced sponsorship funds pressuring the budget. The planned withdrawal would not affect the Crimson Tide's 1968 69 basketball season in the Northern Vermont League, effective July 1, 1968.
