Bennington College Faculty Vote No Confidence in Parker

Faculty at Bennington College, led by Dean Reinhoud van der Linde, call for no confidence in President Gail T. Parker amid disputes over the futures committee report and tenure policy. Senate report details CIA murder plots and CIA aid

A Senate Select Committee report outlines an arsenal from poisons to booby traps and says the CIA plotted to kill Fidel Castro and Patrice Lumumba and aided insurgents who murdered leaders such as Trujillo, Diem, Nhu, and Schneider. The panel could not determine who authorized the plots.

Pray trial heads to jury after testimony ends

In Addison County Superior Court Judge William Hill hears closing arguments Saturday morning in the Gary B. Pray murder case. The 27 year old from Bennington is charged with the May 6 1971 slaying of Edouard Garneau in East Arlington. The defense called 24 witnesses over four days. The jury of eight women and four men is expected to receive the case Saturday afternoon with a verdict possible that night.

Plan to tie Vermont school aid to income instead of property
