State rests case against Minckler in Windsor murder trial

In Windsor Superior Court the state rested its first degree murder case against Richard L. Minckler. Deputy State's Attorney William Keefe reserved the right to call Jerry Merrow as a witness if located. Merrow testified at the Michael Martin murder trial about October 5, 1976, near the Palace Hotel, and called Manchester police after the shooting. Bonnie Kinney, 18, an immunity witness, testified at the Martin trial that she slept through the Palace incidents. she was living with Minckler in Swanton. The defense pressed questions about Shanahan's prior heroin use as part of attempting to challenge key testimony.
