Watts and All A Hunting Oddity

Jeffrey Kilburn, 17, of Highland Avenue, shot a six point buck weighing 125 pounds in Winhall. The deer carried seven large warts on its head and neck adding about 10 pounds, with grapefruitsized growths noted by Game Warden William LaCount. The warts are reported as more common north of Manchester. the rest of the animal was edible. Kilburn’s second hunt success following a prior season.

New York City Teachers vote to end 11 week strike

New York City teachers voted overwhelmingly to accept a settlement ending an 11 week strike that kept more than a million students from classes. The agreement suspends three Ocean Hill-Brownsville principals, ousts the district’s local board, installs a state trustee, and creates a three member arbitration panel to govern city schools.
