Vermont braces for strict snowmobile rules and sewage plants
Environmentalist John A S McGlennon, EPA regional administrator, predicts five year delays for strict snowmobile noise limits and landowner permission requirements, while rural Vermont faces costly septic limits and limited federal funds for treatment plants. He toured Washington County with state officials and praised Vermont pollution laws as ahead of the region, noting little federal aid for septic systems or zero discharge goals. He urged Vermonters to contact his Boston office with questions.
