Last legal skirmish on new Route 7 in Bennington County
The six hour hearing in federal court in Brattleboro debated environmental concerns for the Arlington to Manchester segment of Route 7. Judge James L. Oakes did not rule and said a decision could come in about six weeks. Plaintiffs argued the project violated NEPA and failed to consider a feasible alternative to routing near the Lye Brook Wilderness. Friends of Seven, denied standing, participated as a friend of the court.
