TV producer blames shows for youths’ rebellious mood
Radnor Pennsylvania veteran TV producer Eliot Daley, citing a Nov. 7 TV Guide feature, says television has created a generation of rebellious, pot smoking youths by intruding on preschool years. He warns cartoons and violence blur fiction and fact, fostering impatience and crisis attitudes. Daley, director at Small World Enterprises builder of Mister Rogers Neighborhood, argues TV taught instant solutions from 1950s preschool fare onward. The JFK assassination, he adds, shattered hero worship and left a question about future goals.
