Auburn Prison Riot Ends After Hostage Crisis
In Auburn New York inmates at the maximum security prison seized control with about 400 prisoners holding over 30 guards for most of Wednesday. Superintendent Harry Fritz imposed a strict no concessions policy and restricted meals and recreation as 320 guards used minimal force. Six guards were injured, four treated at hospital, two kept overnight including one in intensive care from a heart attack.

Bodies of two coeds found near Pennsylvania highway
Autopsies disclosed the deaths of two 19 year old New York City college coeds from Queens Community College. Officials say they were shot once each, one through the mouth and the other in the back of the head. Their bodies lay dumped near Interstate 70 two miles from the Maryland border.

Bruce outraged by Hanoi envoy remarks at Paris talks
At the Paris Vietnam talks U S and North Vietnamese negotiators clashed over the American election impact. Ambassador Bruce condemned Xuan Thuy for insulting remarks about Nixon, calling the exchange the most extreme he had heard. Thuy accused Nixon of lying as Bruce urged end to propaganda and preconditions. No progress was reported after four hours.

In Moscow unofficial Soviet sources say three American Army officers and a Turkish colonel held in Armenia since their Beechcraft Beechcraft U8 crossed into Soviet land will be released within days.
