Bennington’s 50 Year Home Furniture Pioneer Max Fienberg
The Bennington furniture store marks 50 years with founder Max Fienberg still active at 78, crediting his installment buying approach and trusted customers for decades. The firm siting at Main and Valentine Streets originated in 1883 and expanded through 1944, now run with his son Oscar. Fienberg, an immigrant from Russia via Albany, built a local legacy rooted in hard work and faith in customers, with the business philosophy of “Feather Your Nest with A Little Down.”
