Hoff Urges Regional Vocational Schools Plan for Vermont
Vermont Governor Philip Hoff proposed a comprehensive regional vocational education system funded from state and federal sources with at least 4 million from the general fund surplus for the next biennium. Planned facilities include Burlington Rutland St. Albans St. Johnsbury and Barre with projects already under way in Bennington Springfield Newport Derby and Hyde Park. The plan aims to boost youth skills as half of high school graduates do not attend college.
