Speakers clash over society’s ills at Vermont College convocation
At Vermont College on Oct 27 New York City Policeman David Durk urged recruiting educated, socially aware officers while Florynce Kennedy chided the idea, calling for fewer police and broader action against corporate and environmental harms. Other speakers weighed reform, health care balance, and youth responsibility. In Massachusetts, Clark Art Institute trustees unveiled a 1701 London tankard honoring Peter Guille, former director and master silversmith, now on display.
