Willow Park Clarified by Bennington Park Commission

The Bennington Park Commission released a letter to the town’s selectmen clarifying its role in Willow Park on Town Farm land off Park Street Extension. Formed in November 1966, the panel was charged with planning park use and surveying possible future recreation areas amid resident objections led by Winston W. Lother who have circulated petitions for a special town meeting to decide if the land remains a park.

Mrs Harwood enters race for state senate seat in Bennington County

Mrs Made line B Harwood former vice chairman of the Republican State Committee announced her candidacy for the Republican nomination to the Vermont State Senate representing Bennington County. She faces T Garry Buckley while incumbent Allan B Angney Jr will not run and Salvatore Santargangelo may seek re election. Harwood, a Newbury native and descendant of Gen Jacob Bailey, holds multiple GOP posts and will attend the Miami Beach convention as Vermont delegate. She cites youth protection education and tax concerns as key issues.
