Hoff backs importing Canadian power, Vermont lessons from New York’s Power Authority, and the Yankee Dixie plan to move Appalachian coal mine power north. Assistant Secretary Holum cited St. John River project’s yardstick effect and private-public utility cost-cutting pushes. Southwestern Vermont students will return to classrooms this summer for the Ford Foundation supported Cooperative Project for Curriculum Development. The third year offers diverse courses including Japanese Culture and Pottery Making, serving as a proving ground for curricular innovations adopted by local schools. Robert Stafford will speak at commencements, and Arlington writer Mary Wolfe Thompson works on a local history book that may entertain and inform readers for years.

It criticizes self confidence and arrogance in U.S. foreign policy and calls for allied consult and restraint.

The essay links rising nonconformity and dating in school to current college drug and promiscuity concerns, arguing youth challenge old norms while parents romanticize them.
The President and his supporters claim the Vietnam War mirrors past anti-tyrant struggles, arguing it is legally and morally the same as resisting the Kaiser, Hitler, Stalin, or Korea. They are mistaken.
A Bennington Banner reader argues the planned four lane bypass would devastate Flats businesses and Grand List. They favor an eastern route proposed by Morse Cadiz and supported by the town selectmen, with interchanges at Willow Road and near U.S. 7 and Vt 67A to serve Flats and downtown Bennington.
A selection of letters and commentary on Kennedy era policy argues for timing on unification votes, U S aid to Latin America, and East Asia. Contributors discuss fall elections, Bolivia versus West Germany aid efficiency, and U.S. stance toward Taiwan amid China negotiations.
