Parochial Schools Face Enrollment Strain in Bennington
Bennington parochial schools fear bulging enrollments with BCHS at about 400 students and St Francis de Sales seeking space. A large lecture hall will become two classrooms as they plan modest expansion and consider later building, while Sacred Heart and St Francis Academy manage overflow with limited additions. Fr Spinelli notes no plan for BCHS extra facilities beyond converting a room, and Fr Flanagan emphasizes community concerns over union schooling and tax impacts.
