Vermont official warns beltline plan would cost more
Montpelier Vermont Highway Commissioner Lauritz Larsen says a non partisan civil association proposal to build an alternate to phase four of the Burlington Beltline would cost 3.9 million dollars more than authorized by the 1968 legislature. He notes the collector road portion would be 3 million of the total and cannot be funded by the state. He calls the collector road a local street not on a federal aid route or part of the arterial system. Voters will decide on phase four at the June 4 election.
