Regional Police Plan Proposed for Five Vermont Towns
Maj. Glenn E. Davis of the Vermont State Police proposed a regional police service to cover Wilmington and five nearby towns. The plan would cost at least $100,000 in the first year and provide seven 24 hour patrols with seven officers, two radio cars, and a central office. The idea, discussed at a Windham Regional Planning Commission meeting, could be funded by town meetings, the legislature, or a state matching basis.
