St Joseph Business College Launches $100000 Building Fund

St Joseph Business College announced a $100000 drive to raise funds for a $350000 building project on West Main Street near Catamount Lane. The plan includes seven classrooms a library an auditorium gym and a medical clerical lab with future expansion and accreditation goals.

New York Anti Coronary Club Diet Cuts Heart Attacks

New York researchers report that members of the anti-coronary club suffer far fewer heart attacks than typical men of their age. The group averaged five attacks per year versus 24 expected, with higher risk men seeing about one attack per year. The diet emphasizes reducing saturated fats and increasing unsaturated fats, substituting fish poultry and grains for beef pork and eggs. Compared with Framingham men aged 40 to 59, the club's rate was under 3 percent per 1000 versus 14 percent per 1000 in Framingham.

Canoeists To Honor Explorer On Connecticut River Trip

Dartmouth College students embark on a five day 218 mile canoe journey from Hanover to Old Saybrook down the Connecticut River. Led by William Fitzhugh the Ledyard Canoe Club will field about 20 paddlers in 10 canoes with seven portages to commemorate John Ledyard Dartmouth Class of 1775.
