Vermont unemployment drops nearly 11 percent

Vermont unemployment fell about 11 percent in the week ended May 12 with 4,977 claims filed, down 606 from the prior week. Initial claims numbered 398, down 41.9 percent from May 5, with declines over 10 percent in six of 11 sectors including Brattleboro 20 percent, Bennington 17.9 percent, and Barre Montpelier 15.5 percent.
