Obituary: Alfred W Kristjansen 70 Hoosick Falls NY
Alfred W Kristjansen aged 70 of 147 Main St Hoosick Falls died Thursday morning at Hoosick Falls Heart Center after a long illness. He retired from Noble & Wood Machine Co as a wood pattern maker and formerly worked for Walter A Wood Co. A Navy veteran of World War I he was a member of Van Rensselaer Lodge F&AM Veterans of World War I and First United Church Presbyterian. Survived by wife Helen J Holton and brother James E Kristiansen both of Hoosick Falls. Funeral today at 2 pm in First United Church with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery.

North Bennington School Board refused to grant an extra holiday on May 29 provoking comments from Chairman Lawrence F Powers who called it a stinkers remark. Superintendent Leon E Wagner noted classes started late, the district exceeds the state minimum, and without the extra day the term totals 174 days with May 30 a holiday and classes ending June 9.
