Judge hints at sex separation in Seabrook detention ruling
In Concord New Hampshire US District Judge Hugh Bownes weighs ruling on detaining hundreds of anti nuclear protesters in five National Guard armories. He indicates sex separation could be part of any decision. Adjutant General Blatsos testified he attempted segregation but halted to avoid clashes with protesters. Lights are kept on at night due to possible sexual assault concerns. The suit seeks 40 million dollars in damages over cruel and unusual punishment claims tied to food sanitary and sleeping conditions.
