Vermont fishing outlook cards improving after rain
Vermont fish and game officials say weekend rains raised water levels in headwater streams but reduced snow depth, with improving weather expected to lower waters again. The forecast predicts better fishing on major rivers and smaller ponds opening in lowlands, with higher ponds remaining icebound for another week. Valley pike should be available in southern Lake Champlain areas and certain rivers, while central and northern rivers clear but still cold and high with some snow on banks.
