Northfield schools seek 300000 to save castle like chateau
Northfield Schools Inc plans a thorough study to decide whether to repair or raze the 125 room Chateau built in 1900 by Francis Schell. Estimated restoration costs range from 250000 to 300000 as cracks appear in foundations and silk wall coverings fade. The seven story estate, once hosted dignitaries and hotel guests, sits on 125 acres near Northfield.
