Winter gave Landgrove snowplow a workout
Landgrove's snowplow, under Charles F. Waybright, logged about 1,400 hours on 15 miles of roads since December 6. The March 4–5 storm dumped around two feet, followed by another foot on March 7. The machine ran 11 straight days at one point, broke March 20, and was back March 23 after repairs. A D-6 bulldozer helped clear snow atop Baffin Hill and keep the Landgrove Weston road open. Assistants included Maurice Laselle Jr, Gary Prouty, and Lester Cody.

AIM film examines both sides of environmental future
Manchester group AIM and the Conservation Society of Southern Vermont presented two views on the environment. John Stevens led a Water Lifeblood of the Earth slide show highlighting the water cycle and pollution risks and plans for a school year ecology course in Bellows Falls and Arlington funded by a Title III grant. Earth Theatre offered a humorous yet warning portrayal of overpopulation and consumerism. AIM volunteers were sought for Green-Up Day and Arbor Day as officers were re-elected and a revised consumer guide distributed.
