Senate confirmation was expected today for Christopher Swezey of Manchester and Paul Atherton of Burlington to the Vermont Fish and Game Board. Nominated after endorsements by the Senate Natural Resources Committee, both men faced short questions about open turkey season plans. Swezey opposed opening a turkey season, citing a 500 bird area population and urging caution to protect hens. Senators were surprised by the season’s year opening and anticipated a delay.
