Bennington selectmen reshuffle town boards and commissions
Bennington selectmen emerged from an executive session Tuesday to name several new members to town boards and commissions. In a surprise move they replaced Joseph Higgins on the Housing Authority with Rev. Kenneth Costin and added Karen Fortney to planning and Thomas Bluto to zoning. The Parks and Recreation Commission was reduced to 13 with incumbents reappointed and Gerald LaCroix added. The new Human Services Commission includes Edward Holden Rev Henry Bourgeois Mary Geannelis Richard Perrott and Cindy Tripp with one member to be named next week. Several listers seats remain to be filled and next week a five member expansion may occur. Higgins said he was discriminated against and would issue a statement.
