Miller Formula Endorsed With Minor Amendments
In Montpelier the Senate Appropriations Committee plans to advance the Miller formula with slight changes. Ed ward Janeway and H Ward Bedford proposed a fixed 1969 appropriation, a 40 percent funding cap for local education costs, and four quarterly payments. They also urged a summer study to test merging personal income with equalized grand list in wealth checks for aid. The plan remains one year only with a Senate vote later this week.
