Too Late To Create Five-Man Listers Board In Bennington
Bennington town counsel Norton Barber ruled it is too late this year to establish a five member board of listers. A March town meeting article to keep the board at five was narrowly defeated, leaving three listers. A special election cannot be held this year. candidates cannot be elected until the next March meeting. The issue affects reappraisal of property and the timing of federal funds and local projects.
