General Electric in Burlington secures a 466107 dollar contract for 20 millimeter vulcan guns and a 1.2 million contract for vulcan gun pods. Marketing chief says employment will hold near 1000 then rise to about 1200 later this year as volume grows. The two deals ease labor concerns.
Three Vermont businesses received SBA loans totaling 78000 this March. Dura Belle Inc Randolph 50000, Vermont Associated Lime Industries Winooski 25000, Brooks and Washburn Bethel 3000 for remodeling. DMV extends hours to process 1964 license plates before April 1 deadline.
Seventeen warehouse and maintenance staff and truck drivers at S. R. Saiger Co Inc in Burlington voted to join the New England Joint Board of the Retail Wholesale and Department Store Union AFL-CIO. The 96 vote Tuesday moves them into the union as a wholesale grocer.
