Air Force to Aid New England Weather Forecasters
New England weather forecasters will receive Air Force support soon but a Coast Guard weather ship is doubtful due to Vietnam War commitments. ESSA chief Dr. Robert White said five planes with special gear will fly from Puerto Rico to aid forecasts, while funding for a weather ship hinges on the 1971 budget and radar upgrades next winter.
