New firm offers compacted waste disposal solution
Cambridge based Reclamation Systems Inc opens the nations first solid waste compaction plant capable of handling 2000 tons per day. The 2 5 million facility uses a 2200 ton hydraulic press to compress 5000 pounds of rubbish into a four foot cube. Compacted bales can be shipped to landfills and used as fill material for reclaimed land. Odor free and less attractive to rats, the bales reduce leakage and stray debris while squeezing liquids into the sewer.
